Orbrun - Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup in first person
Orbrun is an unofficial client for Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup (DCSS) that puts you inside the dungeon. It connects to the public WebTiles servers with the same protocol as the official client, and draws the same game in first-person 3D, built to be played with a gamepad on a handheld: the Steam Deck first.
If you play WebTiles, this is your game, your account, your rc file and your keys. There is nothing to install and no Orbrun account: pick a server, log in or spectate, and play in the browser. Or play on this device with no server at all.
What it does
- A first-person 3D view of the live dungeon, from the game’s own tiles.
- Full gamepad support: a contextual A button, command menus, an on-screen keyboard, and an action bar that always says what each button does.
- Everything the official client shows: menus, prompts, the monster list, the message log, chat, the level map and targeting.
- Your rc file, read live from the server and never overridden.
- Follows every DCSS release and trunk build without an update, from each server’s own data.
- Runs from your Steam library on a Steam Deck or a desktop.
